Beautiful Faces – Lessons 1 – 6, taught by Jane Davenport

I made this journal, my first, to use for my lesson practice. I used some old, left-over WC paper, 140 lb. cold-pressed. I have found that the best way, for me, is to work right in front of the screen. I am able to stop the action for as long or as often as needed. Here is a journal flip through for my lessons to date. I will include lesson 7 early next week.20150424_14501120150424_14503020150424_14504920150424_14511520150424_14513320150424_14520520150424_14522420150424_14524720150424_145309 20150424_150144

And now to the latest

This piece is for Life Book 2015, taught this week by Jenny Wentworth. This lesson required me to step way out of my comfort zone. Jenny showed us how to ‘be in the moment’ when doing a face: no pencil and eraser to sketch as first step. I used my fingers to paint on the outline for the face and neck. Then outline in charcoal. And how very black that looked. From that point, paint layer after layer, until I was happy with her. Since my yellow paint was not a Golden High Flow, she evolved into a dark skinned girl. Am really happy with her.20150422_113028

April Week 3 Prompt – Relevant Numbers

Had so much fun doing this prompt – and, combining it with the previous one.

In this week’s lesson we ask you to incorporate numbers that are relevant to you. This prompt is one of those that can take so many different directions. Once I thought about it for a minute I realized how much numbers really do play a part in our lives, and there are a lot of relevant numbers if you think of dates, phone numbers, identification numbers, credit card and pin numbers, etc. Gina chose to include dates in her lesson this week which includes a basic drawn figure, Peta itemized a list of things that are valuable to her, and I used fave numbers & important dates on my page.

First Ever in New Dylusions Journal

Since we were fourteen and sixteen, my bestie and I have always said “when in doubt, plunge.” So off I jumped into the abyss. I knew that I wanted the page to have a French vibe. The rest was completely intuitive. Just started building. The flowers brought me back to decorative painting days. When I was finished with it, came the big decision. Should I post it on my new Facebook page.  Why not live dangerously? I had already fallen in love with the entire process. And, still am to be honest.

First ever journal page.
